Chalgrave Sports Club
This is a small club with a ground in Wingfield, who organise a Friendly Cricket League between ourselves and a number of other small club/pub sides. The club has a history stretching back almost 100 years, and the Friendly League has been in existence for 20 years.
In addition to the league we organise an annual 10-10 competition between all four sides in our league, along with a number of other fund raising events such as quiz nights and presentation evenings.
Our aim is to promote cricket amongst people of any age and ability, and to allow them to take part in a sport which they may not have any other way of doing. We have welcomed many players over the years who have said ‘I haven’t played since school’ – depending upon their age this can be some time!
