Rogation Walk – Sunday 1st May 2016

Rogation Walk

The Rogation day walk takes place on the bank holiday weekend, Sunday, 1st May 2016. This is where we ‘Beat the Bounds’ of Chalgrave. It is the only day of the year that we are legally entitled to walk those parts of the parish  boundary that are not a public right of way.

We leave from the Queens Head, Tebworth, at 10:00 AM sharp, stop for a well deserved lunch at the Fancott around 1:00 pm, and get back into Tebworth around 5:30 pm. The entire walk is around 10 miles, but some people just do the morning session and leave after lunch. It is an easy route, other than a few stiles, ditches, fences, and streams to cross! Recent rainfall means it might be quite muddy in places, so you may wish to wear suitable footwear.  It is mostly an easy stroll, so suitable for all ages and abilities. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but large dogs my struggle negotiating some of the stiles and fences. Note – the Fancott do not permit dogs in the main garden at the rear, but they are allowed at the front where there are a couple of tables.

Further information can be found on the Walks page.

We hope to see you on Sunday morning.
