Rogation Day Walk

A fine day for a walk

Rogation Day Walk, 10 May 15 (2)

The annual Rogation Day Walk took place on 10th May, led, of course, by Ken Green. A better day for walking would have been harder to have picked – for once it actually was dry and sunny, and there was less mud under foot than is often the case. As usual, the walk started from the Queen’s Head but this year the midway point was marked by a stop at the Star in Chalton, owing to the temporary closure of the Fancott Arms following the fire earlier this year.

Despite it being dry this year there were still some water hazards to negotiate, but these were safely navigated, at least by the humans who were taking part.

Nevertheless, there were the inevitable and unavoidable barbed wire obstacles which had to be overcome by canines and humans alike.

An illustrated report on this adventure will appear in the next issue of the Chalgrave News, due to land on door mats in early June.
