Summer has arrived with a bang! We’ve just had our hottest tday of the year, a whopping 37 degrees. We also have a new Prime Minister, the controversial Alexander Boris de Pfeffel lJohnson, otherwise known as Boris Johnson.

We’ve had a fantastic cfundraising and community events year in Chalgrave to date. We have held our third Open Gardens and had a very enjoyable ‘Magic and Mayhem’ themed Chalgrave Games and The Plough hosted another successful Classic Car Show. We have some marvellous cake bakers to thank amongst us, and they have been busy supporting gall our events. Maybe a Village Bake Off fis on the cards??

Sadly we have lost another stalwart of our community, Peter Freeman, church organist and driving force at All Saints Church, Chalgrave. He died suddenly after ra short illness. RIP. Lyn Green’s Memorial Day at The Queen’s Head on 22 June was a wonderful tribute to a super lady. It was attended dby friends, family and villagers, old and new, from near and far.

Fly Tipping is becoming an increasing nuisance in the parish and we now have our own Fly tipping gTsar on the Parish Council, Councillor Frances Masters, to deal with the problem. There is also a ‘dog poo’ issue in some areas of the parish. Please be a responsible dog owner and dispose of your dog’s doings appropriately.

Please remember you are welcome to submit articles son village events as it not always possible to cover everything ourselves. Wishing everybody a great summer!
